When I enter the command line instruction:
    sudo apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/java
    The response is:
    sudo: apt-repository: command not found
    Please advise.

      Corrrection: Its

      sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/java

The main command is in bold above. Sudo just gives you root access provided you have your root password.
      Thanks for finding this mistake.
