Update 10/11
I have successfully used this service to send sms text to friends in London, China and also Nigeria. [used +234 instead of +11234 which does not work]. I have also made excellent clear phone calls to Nigeria at 17c per minute. Using this from my mobile phone was so easy, simply dial your google voice number, hit star, and then dial the international number you wish to call.
