Updating to the latest cuda development toolkit on Linuxmint 18.1 [with a GTX 1080+970]
First, update to R390 Driver
sudo dpkg -i cuda-repo-ubuntu1704-9-1-local_9.1.85-1_amd64.deb
sudo apt-key add /var/cuda-repo-9-1-local/7fa2af80.pub
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cuda
GTX1080 at about 80 degrees C – and doing 474 Sol/s
GTX970 at aboyt 56 degrees C – and doing 275 Sol/s

Android Development Screen shots Notes, showing my settings, and most especially space costs on my dual OS laptop.
I dual boot into Windows 10 or Ubuntu 16 on my laptop, l find the later faster and more Android sdk development simpler since l have to disable Hyper-V which l need on Windows 10 if l setup my full Android development on it – including emulator for testing.
Note, the complete tools below l chose and use take a lot of space. In my case, 30Gb, so plan accordingly.
Choice of SDK platforms.
My current phone is the LGG5 – running Android 7.0, however l also own an older Nexus 6 [no sim card/wireless plan] which l use for Android development testing running Android 7.1.1 [google nexus phones get the latest android releases frirst, unfortunately at least the nexus 6P not 6 is required for Android Oreo/8] 🙁 , and one of my target platform is Ikechukwu’s older samsung galaxy tablet which runs Android lollipop 5.0.1
I also chose Android MM – Marshmellow 6.0.1 since l have a tester using that version residing in Jos/Lagos on his phone – onijec [click here for his twitter link].
I want to test developing a small birthday countdown app for Ikechukwu, see if this works on multiple Android versions, test and use my google developer account/playstore and non playstore app distribution – before diving into more deep stuff like geo location based apps l am more interested in.

I attended the 2006 event in Seattle, WA – learning about building super computers using Windows Computing Cluster, Rocks [Linux] etc and various applications of super computing / high performance computing which include designing the new Boeing Dreamliner 787, health and weather forecasting etc, crunching tons of seismic research data etc. Here is the link. Passed my Microsoft Cerfification Exam on first attempt on Tuesday June 2nd! Score: 814
The certificate says l’m now recognized as a MCTS – Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance. The exam is the MCTS 70-432. Next goal is the 70-450 which has no study book in print, and the only material l can find so far is the CBT-NUGGETS training video on Exam 70-450 which is very good.
Materials l used to study other than multiple SQL Server instances on my laptop, Virtual PC Windows 2008 Machines with SQL Server 2008 installed – for database replication, mirroring and failover clustering practise!!!
– MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-432): Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 – Implementation and Maintenance by Mike Hotek (Very good, in-depth all round material, lab oriented book with real life stories). This seems to be the only main book out there.
– Self Test Software for MCTS 70-432, bought the download version of this excellent practise test program.
– Microsoft Sql Server 2008 Books on line (download the latest update from Microsoft)
